Research Support Coordinator
The Department of Biostatistics Clinical Trials Statistical Data Management Center is seeking a Research Support Coordinator to provide developmental and administrative coordination for grant program activities within the center.
Grant Exploration and Development
Assist in the development and coordination of CTSDMC grant proposals.
Prepare grant application packages, using appropriate application format (i.e. Cayuse). Assure proposal completeness.
Prepare proposal routing forms for approval.
May prepare budgets for CTSDMC project proposals.
Post-Award Administration/Financial Responsibility
Perform monthly reconciliation of CTSDMC grant and non-grant accounts, in accordance with funding agency and UI regulations.
Prepare financial reports for review by Administrative Lead and CTSDMC Leadership.
Track effort of CTSDMC staff, make any necessary adjustments in HR Transaction system.
Prepare administrative portions of grant progress reports and monitor completeness.
May initiate and/or monitor external subcontractor contracts and Professional Service Agreements (PSAs) for projects.
Compliance
Monitor compliance with contract/grant terms for all CTSDMC projects.
Track all administrative deadlines and ensure deliverables are met on time.
Operational/ Administrative Support
Organize project-related meetings and events. Prepare agendas and provide administrative support, including taking meeting minutes, as requested for routine meetings and occasional events.
Assist in the scheduling of meetings, including initiating Doodle polls, for project-related meetings.
Provide administrative support to CTSDMC administration, including meeting scheduling, calendar requests, and other routine administrative support.
Coordinate project-related travel for CTSDMC leadership and staff.
Maintain conference room calendars and approve requests for conference room use.
External Communication and Negotiations
Coordinate response to routine inquiries related to CTSDMC projects.
Update public-facing websites for CTSDMC and study-specific websites as applicable.
Leadership/Supervision
May provide functional supervision over other administrative staff and/or student employees.
Requires:
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
At least one year of experience in administrative support position is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Occasional out-of-state travel may be required.
Knowledge and considerable experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
Desires:
Experience in the administration of externally funded research projects is desired.
Knowledge of University policies, procedures and regulations is desirable, as well as knowledge of relevant University systems including UIRIS, Pro-Trav and the EFR Portal.
Position and Application Details:
This position is eligible for remote, in person or hybrid work. Remote work must comply with the remote work program and related policies.
Position is 75-100% time, negotiable.
