REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or other biological science, or an appropriate combination of education and years of experience working in an academic research environment.
  • Experience with standard molecular biology and biochemical techniques (e.g., protein isolation from human and animal tissue samples, PCR/qPCR, and Western blot).
  • Experience with aseptic tissue culture techniques (e.g., establishing and maintaining primary cell lines and human iPSCs).
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Practical knowledge of stem cell or mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique.
  • Familiarity with Macintosh and PC computers, including the applications Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Photoshop is desirable.
  • Basic understanding of standard molecular biology and biochemical techniques (e.g. nucleic acid extraction, PCR/qPCR, ICC/IHC, Western blot etc.).

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

  • Training in advanced techniques will be provided by appropriate laboratory personnel or the Laboratory Director/Principal Investigator on an ongoing and as needed basis.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

  • Functional supervision of lab student workers may be exercised.
