The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Department of Nursing is seeking a Medical Assistant II to perform specific tasks to assist members of the Nursing team in providing patient care under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager. 

 The Pediatric Cancer Center Clinic and Infusion Center provides comprehensive care to pediatric patients with hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplant diagnoses. The clinic has eight exam rooms and nine infusion beds to care for patients ranging in age from newborn to adolescent/young adult.

 

Percent of Time: 100% 
Schedule: 40 hours per week, 8 hours between 0800-1700
Location: Stead Family Children’s Hospital (SFCH)
Rotations: no weekends, no holidays, no on-call
Salary: $39,090.40 per year

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

  • Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant or completion of a recognized one year Medical Assistant Program, or Completion of a health care profession program with a curriculum incorporating elements of a Medical Assistant program including but not limited to: pathophysiology, medical terminology, basic pharmacology and medication administration including dose calculation and psychology.

 

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certified Medical Assistant is preferred
