HR Coordinator
The Tippie College of Business is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator who will provide human resource services to the organization. The person in this position will support the HR team with all human resource services including, but not limited to, transaction processing, compliance monitoring, recruitment support, and building an inclusive culture. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented person who is ready to contribute to a positive experience for our faculty, staff, and students.

Specific Job Duties and Tasks
- Initiate, approve, and/or edit HR transactions in workflow (appointments, change in status, special compensation). Explain routine operations/processes to staff.
- Respond to routine HR questions from employees or supervisors.
- Initiate and review HR compliance reports and collaborate with departments to resolve issues.
- Monitor compliance with university policies and employment regulation.
- Support recruitment activities, including scheduling interviews, conducting credential, and, criminal background.
- Support departments in recruiting and hiring of students and temporary positions.
- Manage compliance for all new employees, such as immigration and I-9 documentation.
- Coordinate and complete federal I-9 forms for all employee types.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education Requirement
Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications

Basic knowledge of state and federal regulations affecting human resources.

Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service for all employee populations.

Demonstrated high attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Commitment to and ability to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion in the work or academic environment.
Desired Qualifications
-
Human Resources Certification (i.e. PHR, SHRM-CP) and/or commitment to the HR field through training and development.

Knowledge of/experience with University of Iowa HR systems, policies, and processes.

Prior experience in a higher education setting.
