The Enterprise Leadership Program in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences is seeking an Educational Support Services Specialist

The Enterprise Leadership Program is seeking an Educational Support Services Specialist. This position will support student educational experiences, co-curricular programs, and administrative functions for the Enterprise Leadership Program. This position will work collaboratively with the Pomerantz Career Center and Iowa John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center, as well as with students, faculty, alumni, donors, and other campus partners and external agencies. May involve overnight travel to conferences or alumni events 3-5 days per semester.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Professional Prep Mentor program, including acquiring alumni mentors, matching mentors with current students, and tracking impact of the program.
  • Coordinate student co-curricular programs with the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (CLAS) and the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center, including select student organizations, treks, speaker series, and specialty workshops, seminars, and events.
  • Provide operational and administrative support for two undergraduate academies for enterprise leadership and entrepreneurship students.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates working ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation. Demonstrates high attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Must hold excellent project management skills and have the ability to plan out both short term and long-term deadlines to meet desired outcome.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the capacity to demonstrate positive interpersonal skills and participate as a member of a team environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office support tools available on the desktop (e.g., calendaring, word processing, e-mail, presentation software, and spreadsheets).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust and develop self to prepare for new or changing assignments, processes, people or priorities as organizational needs dictate at a working proficiency level.
  • Experience supervising students or staff in a work environment.
