University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics department of Engineering Services, HVAC Shop, is seeking a Facilities Mechanic II.

  • Performs skilled and semi-skilled work in the repairing, servicing, and maintaining of buildings and electrical, mechanical and HVAC equipment.
  • Inspects, maintains, and makes operating repairs on electrical equipment and wiring, heating, air conditioning and ventilating. 

Percent of Time: 100% (40 hours per week)

Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Rotations: Work weekends and holidays as scheduled for on-call; additional hours as required.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

1. Two years of experience in general mechanical or electrical maintenance or other building facilities construction work.  

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Refrigeration certificate of at least type 2
  • Experience with computers (Excel, Word)
  • Experience and ability to troubleshoot pumps
  • Healthcare facility operations experience
